This enterprise server management licence (ML) allows all of one server's workloads to be managed by System Center Configuration Manager 2007, including server applications and other premium workloads. When a device has multiple operating system environments (OSEs), a separate ML is required for each OSE managed by Configuration Manager.

A standard ML is sufficient for management of basic server operating system workloads by Configuration Manager. Each server requires either a standard or an enterprise ML, but not both.

User and OSE client MLs are also available. A client ML is required for each nonserver device managed by Configuration Manager.

All server MLs are licenced per OSE. In other words, if a server is running multiple OSEs, one ML is necessary for each OSE managed by Configuration Manager. For more information about licensing Configuration Manager, see System Center Licensing (PDF) from Microsoft.
